Lecturer in Criminal Law
For the past five years, Jonathan has single-handedly organized the Los Angeles County Bar’s Indigent Criminal Defense Association’s MCLE programs attended by more than 2000 lawyers. In that capacity, he annually put together and lecture at four six-hour legal programs. Jonathan has also made presentations to the following firms & organizations: Public Counsel, the Los Angeles County Public Defender, Knapp, Peterson and Clark; Greenberg, Glusker, et al; Music, Peeler & Garrett; Lewis, D’Amato, et al; Bloom, Hergott et al; Hansen, Jacobson, Teller & Hoberman & Lichter, Grossman & Nichols and Nolan Henderson (Safeco).
In February 2013, Jonathan spoke about the emerging use of Cell Phone Technology to more than one hundred members of the Alternate Public Defender’s Office. He is scheduled to lecture on the use of informants to the Los Angeles County Bar’s ICDA section in September. He has also been invited to participate in the NAMI (National Association for the Mentally Ill) conference that same month.
Specialist
After passing a rigorous examination and thorough screening by the State Bar, Jonathan has been a Certified Specialists in Criminal Law for over ten years. He is one of only 358 such specialists out of over 176,000 California attorneys. Jonathan is also the only attorney from Los Angeles County on the State Bar Advisory Committee which both screens and monitors Criminal Law Specialists.
